The FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7170 is both a wireless ADSL2+ router and an all-round PBX for not only VoIP and analog, but also ISDN telephony. AVM's effcient traffic shaping allows users to surf the Web and make several simultaneous phone calls of excellent sound quality, free from any interference.
The WLAN connection is pre-encrypted in the WPA standard, and in combination with AVM's FRITZ!WLAN USB Stick, users are supplied with a finalized connection without any need for user configuration. Three analog extensions for telephones and fax machines support VoIP or fixed line telephony even when the computer is off. The effcient traffic shaping allows several users to surf and phone simultaneously with no interference. At the same time, four computers or other network devices have Internet access at ADSL2+ speed. The preconfigured firewall and port forwarding features guarantee safe surfing, both when working as a modem and as a router. And by simply pressing a button, the WLAN connection can be enabled and disabled. The USB host port allows applications such as printers and storage media to be shared throughout the entire network. A wide range of helpful convenience features are accessible to all connected computers. Free software updates help users upgrade their communication equipment.
